Actual stretch marks do not appear on the neck. What you’re seeing is crepey skin. A stretch mark is a striation in the skin that we often get in our hips or women get after pregnancy.

Do stretch marks go away?

Some people have the tendency to have crepey skin on their necks and other areas. Some of it has to do with the subcutaneous and dermal volume, and how much it supports the skin. As we age, we tend to get crepier skin and thin people tend to see more crepiness. If you have skin that stays pinched after you pinch it, you’ll most likely have crepey skin there.

How long does a mini facelift last?

The length of time that a facelift lasts is different for everybody. Some people age more quickly than others, resulting in a facelift that doesn’t last as long. As a general rule, my facelifts last ten to twelve years, however, mini facelifts don’t tend to last as long. For that reason, I don’t typically do a lot of mini facelifts because I prefer the longevity that a facelift provides.

If you have questions about your facial skin, your neck skin, or the way you’re aging, I’d love to see you in my office. Schedule a virtual or in-person consultation, or just give me a call. I’ll respond to you.
